Why is this solar eclipse special?

During this solar eclipse the moon is slightly closer to Earth, this will create a longer period of complete darkness. The total eclipse will last seven and a half minutes! The last total solar eclipse to be visible in Wisconsin was on May 16th, 1379 and the next total solar eclipse that will cross Wisconsin will be September 14th, 2099.
